CHAIR YOGA: SIT & GET FIT

Build strength, flexibility and balance with the assistance of a chair! Yoga poses are modified to be done either seated or standing using a chair for assistance. This class is suitable for all ages and ability levels. If you have wanted to try yoga, but are uncomfortable getting on the floor, this class is for you. During a typical class we will start with a seated warm-up where we will work on joint range of motion, shoulder and hip flexibility, breathing exercises and seated yoga flows. During the standing portion, with the assistance of a chair, we will work on balance and strength. Class finishes with a cool down and meditation.

QIGONG FOR WELLNESS

Qigong (Chee Gung) gentle exercise classes blend meditative movement and breath awareness to promote mind/body fitness. Participating in a Qigong class improves coordination, balance, flexibility, circulation, strengthens the immune system, and relieves pain and stiffness. The unique movements of Qigong are based on medical principles and are designed to relieve stress and anxiety, cultivate peacefulness and contentment, support brain health, and increase overall vitality. Qigong is very healing to all aspects of life.

MINDFUL YOGA

This is a slow paced traditional Hatha Yoga class based on the teachings of Swami Kuvalyananda, the founder of Kaivalyadhama Health and Yoga Research Center (www.Kdham.com). This style of yoga follows the Ashtanga yoga of Patanjali and adheres to Patanjali’s sutras, therefore poses are done slowly and mindfully, with rest between the poses. This relieves tight muscles and induces a relaxation response that brings the body back in balance, which helps with stress reduction. This also creates an environment where physical and emotional healing can occur. Classes will also include breathing exercises and mindfulness meditation. This class is suitable for all levels and is perfect for beginners.

HEARTFULNESS MEDITATION
Ongoing Saturdays | 9 - 10AM
Experience the Heart's unlimited resources. Learn two simple yet effective meditation techniques to reduce stress, calm your mind and improve the quality of your life. When the heart is at peace, the mind is at rest. When the heart is content, the mind gains insight, clarity, and wisdom. Participants will learn the basics of meditation, and with daily dedication you will observe obvious changes in your inner mind and your outer world. Each session includes a couple of short videos followed by a relaxation technique and silent meditation. There will be time for Q&A at the end of each session. This class is a great class for beginning meditators and/or existing meditators who may be interested in experiencing the ancient emanation of “yogic energy or transmission.” Everyone over the age of 15 is welcome.

HATHA YOGA: ENERGIZE AND STRENGTHEN
Ongoing Saturdays | 10:15 - 11:15AM
Build strength and endurance, improve your balance and flexibility as we flow from one pose to another in this Hatha yoga class. This class will challenge you, no matter what your level and ability is, as we move through poses both dynamic as well as long holds. Classes will also incorporate breathing exercises and meditation to calm the mind. This class is open to all levels and abilities, however it is recommended that students have prior knowledge of yoga. Get yourself ready for the week ahead with this energizing class which aims at bringing about a strong body and a peaceful mind.

YOGA FOR KIDS
Ongoing Saturdays | 11:30 - 12:30PM
Yoga is a great way for children to be fit and healthy. This class introduces yoga to children ages 7-12 in a safe and fun environment with games and other activities. Children are also introduced to mindfulness meditation and breathing exercises. Emphasis is on improving focus and concentration, body awareness, learning to relax and calm down, as well as improving posture.
